Conference Presentation at SAFECOMP 2025 in Stockholm: Neural-Guided Fuzzing for Stateful Protocol Security
We are pleased to announce that Dr.-Ing. Loui Al Sardy presented a research paper at the 20th International Workshop on Dependable Smart Embedded Cyber-Physical Systems and Systems-of-Systems (DECSoS ’25), which took place on September 9, 2025, in Stockholm, Sweden. The workshop was hosted at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and co-located with the annual SAFECOMP 2025 conference, a leading international forum for dependable computing in safety-critical systems.
The paper, titled “i7Fuzzer: Neural-Guided Fuzzing for Enhancing Security Testing of Stateful Protocols”.
In this work, the authors introduce i7Fuzzer, a novel framework that leverages neural networks to guide fuzz testing of stateful communication protocols. The method aims to improve code coverage and uncover hidden vulnerabilities by learning from protocol behaviour and adapting test case generation accordingly.
The presentation was part of the “Cybersecurity of Complex Systems (of Systems)” session, which also featured contributions from international EU-funded projects such as AIMS5.0, A-IQ Ready, PowerizeD, and INSTAR, in cooperation with EWICS TC7 and ERCIM.
The paper is published open access in the Springer SAFECOMP 2025 proceedings and can be downloaded here:
