Flying Faculty Programm at GJU
Successful Completion of Flying Faculty Program at GJU Introduction to Cybersecurity Fundamentals (ICF) Workshop
As part of the Flying Faculty Program 2025, Dr.-Ing. Loui Al Sardy, Assistant Professor at Lab of Computer Networks and Communication Systems, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), visited the German Jordanian University (GJU) in Amman between 21–25 September 2025 to deliver a 20-hour crash course titled Introduction to Cybersecurity Fundamentals (ICF).
The course provided participating students with a comprehensive introduction to the world of cybersecurity, covering both theoretical foundations and practical applications. Throughout the week, students gained insights into:
- Fundamental cybersecurity principles
- Threats and vulnerabilities in digital systems
- Access control, cryptography, and network security
- Emerging topics such as fuzz testing and blockchain in security
The course combined lectures, case studies, and interactive discussions, ensuring that participants not only acquired technical knowledge but also developed critical thinking skills to address real-world security challenges.
This initiative reflects the mission of the Flying Faculty Program, which aims to strengthen the German dimension at GJU by fostering collaboration between academia in Germany and Jordan, and by bridging academic learning with industry practices.
Dr. Al Sardy expressed his gratitude to the International Affairs Department at GJU, the Flying Faculty Program team, and the participating students:
“It was a privilege to share knowledge and engage with such motivated students. Their enthusiasm and active participation made this course a truly enriching experience. I am grateful to GJU and the Flying Faculty Program for this opportunity and look forward to future collaborations.”
The Flying Faculty Program, supported by the GJU Project Office and partner universities in Germany, continues to play a vital role in promoting knowledge transfer, international exchange, and capacity building in higher education.
